Condo insurance for New Mexico unit owners

Your New Mexico condo association's insurance is only the starting point. What you need for your own unit depends on the master policy, governing documents and interior improvements. Bring those documents so we can help you identify coverage questions before requesting options.

Talk with our local team.

Ask about condo insurance, discuss your situation and learn what information is needed for a quote.

Share a few details and our agency will follow up. Submitting a request does not start coverage.

PLAN YOUR COVERAGE

Match your unit coverage to the association

Use these questions to prepare for a conversation about the protection you need. Compare the actual policy terms, limits and deductibles before choosing.

Ask our agency for help
  1. Identify your responsibilities

Ask who insures interior walls, cabinets, flooring and fixtures. Document renovations that may change the amount you need.

  2. Discuss association deductibles

Ask how a wind, hail or wildfire claim would be divided between the association and owners, including possible assessments.

  3. Account for belongings and housing

Inventory your possessions and ask about additional living expenses if a covered loss makes the unit uninhabitable.

  4. Review flood at both levels

Discuss the association's flood protection and your unit's needs separately, especially for ground-floor belongings or flood-exposed building components.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

New Mexico
coverage questions.

Does the master policy replace my own condo insurance?

Not necessarily. Master policies differ in what they cover inside a unit. Your own policy may address your assigned building responsibilities, possessions and personal liability.

What if I rent out my New Mexico condo?

Tell us before choosing coverage. Occupancy and rental use should be reviewed along with the association documents so the inquiry follows the appropriate owner or landlord coverage path.

What documents help clarify the association’s coverage?

Have the association’s master-policy summary, insurance requirements and relevant bylaws ready. Ask where its responsibility ends, including improvements inside your unit and the master-policy deductible.

What should I review after renovating my condo?

Identify upgrades to cabinets, flooring, fixtures and other finishes. Ask whether the proposed dwelling amount reflects those improvements and how a covered loss would be settled.
